push up

Not all of us have the time to go to the gym 5 days a week which is what, we are so frequently reminded, should be doing. Whether its finding time outside of your 9-5 or finding a spare minute after looking after the kids all day, going to the gym can sometimes be the last thing on your mind. Fear not however as today we compiled a list of 7 of the most effective exercises that you can do without stepping foot out of your front door. Finding the right home workouts can be a costly endeavour but don’t worry, all of these exercises require no equipment and can be done from the comfort of your very own home.

Push Ups

The push up is a great way of working all your core muscles and good news, no equipment needed. Push ups have the ability to work your legs, arms, shoulders, core, back and the list goes on. After mastering the basic push up why not attempt other forms of the exercise to keep things interesting. One handed? Clapping? One fingered? The choices are endless and a great way of building muscle and keeping fit.

Variations of the Plank are also a way of mixing things up and motivating you to keep you on your toes.

Another useful tip is to stand straight against the wall and attempt the squat, it makes things that little bit harder.

Sit Ups

Talking of working the core, crunches or sit ups are the way forward. Whether its setting a set number to do in an allotted period of time or finding variations of the exercise, sit ups are arguably the most useful of the non- equipment exercises that can be done easily at home. An efficient way of whipping those abs into shape, crunches are a great full body exercise to
